When you hear sirens tomorrow in the mid afternoon in Vernal there’s no cause for alarm. It’s just the kickoff of this year’s Special Olympics with the annual Torch Run! The Torch Run is hosted by local law enforcement agencies across the state and the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office and other local agencies are thrilled to host this each year. The Uintah County Sheriff’s Office has announced that this year’s torch run will be held tomorrow, May 9th, at 3pm. It will run from 200 East Main Street to Wendy’s restaurant on Highway 40. Horns and noise are welcome and all are encouraged to come out and celebrate these Special Olympians!
