Summer is a great time to get out for fun after dark at Steinaker State Park. Thursdays are for Dark Sky Viewing. July 21st, August 14th, and August 28th there will be a park ranger and sky volunteers there after dark to help star gazers check out celestial objects with and without a telescope. Red-light flashlights are preferred. Plan to park at the beach/overflow upper lot and the sky viewing will take place at the lower lot. Fridays are for Scorpion Safaris at Steinaker! Join a park ranger on July 25th, August 8th, August 22nd, or September 5th after dark to view some glow-in-the-dark scorpions. Park and meet at the boat ramp parking lot.
