Sugar Glider Has Hometown Launch; Salt Lake City Launch Approaches

Local fans gathered at the Uintah County Library last Saturday as 12-year-old Vernal Middle School student Shelbi Webb debuted her comic book Sugar Glider during her hometown book launch. Shelbi and her dad Jason were talking one day in March of 2017 how it would be fun to create their own comic book character. A major fan of The Flash and Squirrel Girl, Shelbi came up with a character that blended qualities from both and incorporated a focus on tackling tough teen issues like bullying, drugs and alcohol, and body image. Another exciting aspect to this unique comic is that it will feature the popular band X Ambassadors in the 4-part Sugar Glider story arc. The band will be featured as characters in the book that assist the main character Jordyn, or Sugar Glider in her heroine form, in helping others. Sugar Glider featuring X Ambassadors officially launches on May 12th at an exclusive launch party at The Club and Cafe at 50 West in Salt Lake City from 10am to 2pm.
