There may be snow on the mountain ground but the prescribed burns in the area are going according to plan. Ashley National Forest reports that the Argyle and Deer Lodge pile burns were successful on Wednesday. Crews will continue prescribed burning around Yellowstone Guard Station today, November 20, in the Duchesne Ranger District. “These pile burns are part of a hazardous fuels removal project to protect the guard station and facilities,” shares the Forest announcement. “No associated road closures are in effect. However, smoke may still be visible from the operations as piles burn out. Slow down and turn on your headlights if you encounter smoke on the road.”
