The dirt was flying this year at the epic Dinosaur Rodeo Roundup. In case you missed it here are some of the highlights. This year’s rodeo was selected by PRCA rodeo to be broadcast live on the Cowboy Channel. There were 37 World Champions that participated and the bull of the year, “Chisel”, was on site as well. Of course the PRCA paid close attention to the Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo with their prorodeo.com report focusing on the Bull Rider Sage Kimzey’s split win. Kimzey shared the bull riding win with Parker McCown, both riders receiving 90.5 point rides. Kimzey has earned 6 PRCA world championships at the National Finals Rodeo and his goal is to break the standing record of 8. His split win in Vernal added to his lead in the PRCA World Standings for the 2021 season. Prorodeo.com also listed the other winners from the Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo: all-around cowboy Stetson Wright ($1,962, saddle bronc riding and bull riding); bareback rider Tilden Hooper (88 points on Powder River Rodeo’s 99 Problems); steer wrestler Shane Frey (3.6 seconds); team ropers Clay Smith/Jade Corkill and Dustin Egusquiza/Travis Graves (4.5 seconds each); saddle bronc rider Jesse Wright (91.5 points on Powder River Rodeo’s Bet The Ranch); tie down roper Tuf Cooper (7.5 seconds) and barrel racer Emily Miller-Beisel (17.08 seconds). It was another successful year of rodeo in Vernal as the “Greatest Show on Dirt”.
