Stolen Guns Recovered; Rock Springs Man Charged

Stolen guns have been recovered and a Rock Springs man in behind bars following a Sweetwater County Sheriff’s investigation. 44-year-old Robert J. “Bobby” Miller was charged with felony Theft and Wrongful Taking or Disposing of Property, according to Sheriff Mike Lowell. A firearm theft case opened up on June 11th and Miller was a suspect. The missing firearms included a .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol, a Marlin .45/70 lever-action rifle, a Weatherby Vanguard rifle, and a Weatherby .257 Magnum bolt-action rifle. Miller was stopped on his motorcycle in Rock Springs on June 27th and was carrying the stolen pistol. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Center. Detectives recovered the Weatherby Vanguard and Marlin rifles but are still seeking the Weatherby .257 Magnum rifle. Anyone with information about the missing rifle are asked to call (307)922-5345.
