So many personal items can now be tracked, a feature which many use on a daily basis. Perhaps less talked about but still true: this feature is also helpful when the item is swiped by a thief. A backpack stolen in Uintah County over the weekend was recovered after the owner was able to locate the property by tracking the stolen AirPods. According to the Probable Cause Statement, the alleged thief had the backpack in his possession that contained several personal items stolen from the victim. Brandon Boyer of Vernal is charged with 3rd Degree Felony Theft. Boyer has a prior felony conviction for Theft within the past 10 years.
