The people of Roosevelt aren’t afraid to show their patriotism, this time with a special installation in time for the Memorial Day holiday weekend. In 2023, a massive 30 by 60 foot flag was raised over 120 feet in the air on the bluff next to Highway 40 and overlooking the cemetery in Roosevelt. That memorable event took place in time for Roosevelt’s Independence Day celebration. A special large scale soldier silhouette statue joined that flag this week as a special tribute to all who have served or currently serve in the military. This project had many hands involved, all of whom donated material, time, and effort to put it together, shares the Roosevelt City announcement. Roosevelt City specifically thanked Garry Rohrer and Dan Karren with the American Legion, B & G Crane, CSI, and Roosevelt City employees. “We’re grateful to have such amazing people in our community that go above and beyond to make things like this possible,” they share. “And what a great way to start thinking about and honoring those who served or serve in the military for Memorial Day!”
