This weekend will be the soft opening for the new ‘Buckskin Hills Snow Hill’ in Uintah County. Uintah County announced details on Wednesday sharing the following: “There is a ‘buzz’ around Uintah County regarding the tubing hill at Buckskin Hills Recreation Complex. In December Uintah County purchased snow guns and equipment to build a COVID safe outdoor recreation area for locals and to help support the hospitality and tourism business in the area. It has long been said that there is a need for outdoor recreation opportunities that could draw tourists to the area and help hotels and restaurants during the slow season in Uintah County during the winter months. Many locals will talk of the memories made at the old Grizzly Ridge ski hill and the tow rope that would haul them to the top.” The soft opening for the ‘Buckskin Hills Snow Hill’ will be from 10am to 6pm on January 8th and 9th and fees will apply. The cost is $10 a person or $25 per family. Single and double tubes are included in the cost and cost is to be paid at the entrance. Participants must be at least 36 inches tall to use the big hill and a liability waiver will need to be signed by all those that enter. For more information, call 1-800-477-5558.
