While the grand opening for the Ashley Gorge Via Ferrata is scheduled for 2026, the course is operational and is in a soft opening phase in which guided trips are possible. Via Ferrata is an outdoor climbing activity in which steel rungs installed along the cliff face are used, along with safety cables, to explore the route. The Ashley Gorge Via Ferrata is Utah’s first public Via Ferrata and it is currently the longest in the country. While the course itself is complete, parking improvements and public amenities will continue to be added ahead of the 2026 grand opening. Uintah County approved a permit for Dyno Outfitters to provide guiding services making the course available now for a guided experience. “This is a major milestone for outdoor recreation in Uintah County,” shares Amber Toler, founder of Dyno Outfitters. “The Ashley Gorge Via Ferrata (AGVF) is already attracting climbers, families, and adventure travelers who want something big and unforgettable — and it’s just getting started.” Learn more about guided trips now during the soft opening at www.UtahViaFerrata.com.
