The car of a missing Utah woman has been located in a remote area of Carbon County but there’s no sign yet of the woman herself. Vernal was among the known stops that 70-year-old DeEtte Spencer made during the last week of January as she was headed to Colorado to visit family. The last known location of DeEtte Spencer was the Walmart in Price on January 26th. It was believed after leaving Walmart in Price, her plan was to head back home to Escalante in southern Utah’s Garfield County. She was traveling in a cream colored Buick Lucerne car but was not seen again and a Silver Alert was issued. There was a break in the case on Thursday, March 5th, when a utility company employee spotted Spencer’s Buick Lucerne up Nine Mile Canyon on a dirt road. Search and Rescue teams spent the weekend searching the rugged terrain but no additional discoveries have been announced. If anyone has information on this missing person case, please contact the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office at 435-676-2678. Images are shared with this story on BasinNow.com.
