People around the country are still reeling in the aftermath of the mass shooting in Las Vegas and the Uintah County Sheriff has issued a local response. “In light of what has taken place in Vegas, I ask everybody to be vigilant,” shares Sheriff Vance Norton. “If they see something, say something and let us know if anything is suspicious at any time.” Along with that, Sheriff Norton has offered to any local businesses or citizens that would like to get some training on what to do in an active shooter type situation, to contact the Sheriff’s Office for some training that could help their business and employees gain knowledge as to what to do. On behalf of the Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Norton offered his love and prayers for those involved in the Vegas shooting and reiterated the commitment of the Sheriff’s Office to constantly “train and prepare for the evil we hope never comes our way. But if it does, we will meet it face to face and do our best to keep you safe and without fear.”
