[The girls] conversed and agreed that they had to run…When the girls escaped from Vier at Little America, they took his cellular phone with them to call for help.” A search warrant of Vier’s pickup recovered “multiple restraint items, including handcuffs, soft restraints, tape, rope, mouth gags, whips, [and] clamps.” They also recovered a hypnotic tranquilizer and intravenous Benadryl. Vier was sentenced this week to 15 years in federal prison followed by 20 years of supervised release.
