Senator Kevin Van Tassell announced this week that he will not seek re-election at the end of his term. In a letter to fellow senators he stated, “It has been my honor to serve as the Senator for District 26.  I have truly enjoyed the opportunity to associate with so many wonderful people, work on different projects and see the Government work on a State Level.  I have decided to not seek reelection and retire from the Senate at the end of my term in 2018. There are still a couple of items I want to do in my life.  My wife Janice, family and friends have been a great support.  Without them, I would not of been able to succeed.  I hope you all have a great New Year in 2018.  The State’s future is in good hands and I have every confidence  you all will build upon our current success.” Senator Van Tassell has been an advocate for the Uintah Basin and crucial in seeing needed improvements to Highway 40.
