Utah Senator Mike Lee gave a radio interview on Newstalk KVEL discussing a range of topics. When asked about President Trump’s first 100 days in office, Senator Lee said that he’s been pleased so far by the movement as the previous administration left a lot of issues to sort out. Lee emphasized the need to now follow through on eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse in government as well as continue to work on spending reform and regulation reform in American energy. Senator Lee commented on the trade wars and said there are concerning things happening but he believes that it will pass as negotiations could have an overwhelming economic benefit in the long run. When asked about his work as the Chair of the Senate Natural Resources Committee, Senator Lee emphasized that there had been awful federal policies regarding public lands but that no one knows the land like those that live on it.
