Among the many worthy efforts to help local families in need this season is Santa’s Angels led by the big hearted Matt and Alina Tate family. For over 20 years, the Tates have not only dressed up, but gone all out on becoming Santa and his helpers literally and figuratively, helping Uintah Basin families who would otherwise go without. The task is accomplished with the help of the Santa’s Angels who adopt families in need and provide gifts and meals for the holiday. On Tuesday, Matt gave a report on this season’s effort, stating that his heart is full and that they were able to beat their previous record, this year helping 112 families. “I want to openly thank my Angel families, my volunteers, and my family,” shared Santa himself. “You should all be commended.” He shared that they were able to provide full Christmas with dinner for 62 families in the Uintah Basin with another 50 partial for Christmas assistance that received food, new toys, and as many used toys as they wanted.
