The Seven County Infrastructure Coalition is welcoming a new county and with it a new official name for the organization. Sanpete County joins Carbon, Daggett, Duchesne, Emery, San Juan, Sevier, and Uintah counties as members of the newly named Rural Utah Infrastructure Coalition. The coalition was formed to promote cooperative regional planning, increase economic opportunities, and to implement sustainable infrastructure projects to benefit rural areas that traditionally have a difficult time getting support or funding. Rural Utah Infrastructure Coalition Co-Chair Greg Miles says the organization is excited to welcome Sanpete County. “We are united as a coalition,” shares Miles. “The reason we have for the coalition is it’s tough for a small county to get big types of infrastructure projects to the finish line. We are stronger together. We can make a bigger difference and we want their voice. We want them to be a part of their solutions when they come.” Learn more about the coalition at scic-utah.org.
