Roosevelt State Street Project to be Finished in the Spring

While construction has been ongoing on Roosevelt’s State Street, the entire project will not be done before the cold weather puts the breaks on construction. According to contractor Burdick Materials, it was anticipated that the stormwater pipe construction project would be wrapped up before the cold set in but “delays and scheduling issues have made that goal impossible.” Crews will wrap up the current phase of the project in the month of November and the rest will be completed in the spring. “The original plan was to install the curb, gutter, and sidewalks along State Street this year,” shares Burdick. “Because the temperature at this time of year is often unpredictable, we feel we couldn’t guarantee the high quality of work we strive for.” The south end of State Street will be paved and striped over the next three weeks and crews will complete some cleanup projects before packing up for winter.
