Roosevelt City approved a bid for construction of the Constitution Park Sports Complex during Tuesday’s City Council meeting. Three bids were received but it was explained that one bid was complete and included the 6 schedules outlined in the RFP. The council approved that bid from Armour Construction that came in at just over $2 million dollars which was below the project estimate. The new sports complex will be located at Constitution Park inside the open area of the walking path. It will add 16 acres to Constitution Park. Tentative plans for the sports complex include 4 new baseball/softball fields for both youth and adults, new added green lawn space for youth soccer fields, and a new multi-use cement surface.
