Roosevelt City Committed to Road Maintenance and Improvement

Roosevelt City has outlined their plan for road maintenance and improvement over the next year. Crews will get underway next month lane leveling and chip sealing roads throughout the City. The five-year budget plans to spend about $300,000 dollars per year on street improvements. Burdick Materials is contracted for the work at a cost of approximately $850,000 dollars. Widening will also be taking place the west side of State Street from 800 South to 1800 South with culvert, curb, gutter, and sidewalks on the west side of the road for approximately $2 million dollars. Starting in the fall a new water line, storm drain, and sidewalk will be installed from 800 South from State Street to 500 East at a cost of approximately $600,000 dollars. Finally, construction to add a 2 mile sewer line to the Stonegate subdivision could start as soon as November with a total project cost of around $5.8 million dollars. The Public Work’s Department asks for the public’s patience and understanding during construction.
