Roosevelt City Clarifies Annexation Possibilities

Roosevelt City Council discussed and answered questions during last week’s City Council meeting concerning current annexation proposals. City Manager Ryan Snow explained that the City is looking to extend the City boundary to 1000 North. In response to citizen concerns, Mayor Vaun Ryan explained that no one is being forced into the City. The City owns property in that area and the reason annexation is being considered is to include that property in City limits. The letter sent to residents is just to invite them in that area to annex into the system if they desire. “It doesn’t make sense for the City to have property that isn’t part of the City,” says Mayor Ryan. “Roosevelt City will do all the legal paperwork to make it happen so it is an ideal time for those that want to be part of Roosevelt City to opt in…but you don’t have to.”
