Roosevelt City Council approved the city’s budget for the 2018 – 2019 fiscal year on Tuesday. The preliminary budget total is $6,857,700 dollars. “The city anticipates that most revenues will increase at a rate of 2.5 percent in the coming year,” shares the Roosevelt City Bulletin. “Expenses are also expected to increase at a rate of 1.5 percent. Sales tax revenue is expected to increase by five percent due to [the] recovering economy.” Among other items, the budget will include $3.4 million dollars in airport runway renovations, $500,000 dollars for utility improvement projects, $200,000 dollars towards the Master Plan, $110,000 dollars for the Cottonwood Creek Path project, and $20,000 dollars for IT improvements.
