Rollover Accident on Highway 191 at Windy Point

A truck and camper both rolled in an accident on Highway 191 in Uintah County

morning. According to Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Rex Olsen, an 89-year-old Orem man was driving a 1996 Ford F-250 pulling a camper while traveling south. At about


10:30am


, as the man traveled at Windy Point near Mile Marker 369, he failed to maintain his lane of travel and went off the right side of the road. He then overcorrected causing the vehicles to jackknife and as a result both vehicles rolled. Emergency services were called and the man was transported to Ashley Regional Medical Center by ambulance. “The biggest contributor,” shares Trooper Olsen, “was that he was going too fast to negotiate the bend in the road which would happen to anyone going too fast on that stretch…Thankfully he had minimal injuries due to wearing a seatbelt.”
