Rogers Acquitted in Case of Infant Homicide

A jury found a Uintah County man accused of infant homicide Not Guilty last Thursday in 8th District Court in Vernal. On August 26th, 2014, emergency crews were dispatched to the home of Chad Rogers on a report that an infant male was not breathing. The infant was later pronounced dead. The Utah State Medical Center determined the cause of death was forced trauma to the head, causing a brainstem injury and hemorrhaging in the brain. Rogers was booked on charges of child abuse homicide. The jury trial began January 23rd. The trial continued for 10 days until the jury decision of Not Guilty was read on Thursday, February 2nd.
