Rodeo Van Resurrected After Nearly 20 Years

Nearly two decades ago a staple for rodeo week was put into storage and practically forgotten but this year it’s back in full glory. The rodeo van was purchased by the Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo committee back in the 80’s and was used in parades and around town to market the annual event to locals. “They bought it with 40,000 miles on it and today it has 45,000 miles on it,” shares Vernal Chamber Director Joel Brown. “It ended up at B and D RV and it was stored there since 1998! Thanks to Brad Horrocks and family they were kind enough to keep it there without any complaints at all.” The Vernal Chamber received a call a few months ago from someone interested in buying the van. “I had no idea it was even there or who owned it,” shares Brown. “So we did some research and found that the Chamber had the keys to it and the Rodeo Committee owned it.” An anonymous donor put money in and the van was restored to its original look. The van spent the weekend promoting the rodeo at the Flaming Gorge Lodge car show and parked downtown Vernal this week selling tickets. Get info on the Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo at www.vernalrodeo.com.
