Rock Springs City Council officially declared a State of Emergency during their Council meeting Tuesday evening in response to flooding that occurred within the City last week. The worst of the flooding came during storms on and around July 28th that flooded many homes, some even filling entire basements. Residents affected attended Tuesday’s meeting and described the damage. They pleaded with the Council for help with the current damage and help in preventing similar flooding in the future by investigating drainage infrastructure. The resolution states that the flooding in Rock Springs “caused extensive damage to both public and private property” and that it “continues to endanger the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Rock Springs.”
