Road work beginning today will close down a portion of Red Cloud Loop in Uintah County. According to the Forest Service announcement, the Ashley National Forest and Uintah County will be working together on resurfacing the Red Cloud Loop Road from the Dry Fork Flume Trailhead as well as the turn off to Massey Meadows to the Charlies Park turnoff. This is a 6 mile section of road that is narrow and steep and will be closed to the public during the construction due to safety concerns. The work will take place Monday through Thursday from 8am to 5pm and will last as long as it takes to complete it. Resurfacing is aimed at allowing for easier travel as visitors access the Ashley National Forest.
