Representative Scott Chew on Responsible State Spending

Utah legislators are taking a closer look at where state money is being spent. Representative Scott Chew gave a report during the Uintah County Republican Organizing Convention on Thursday explaining that it had appeared that the state was spending just to spend rather than being guardians of funds. After brainstorming and discussions it was decided that agencies that come to the state asking for money be required to report how they are spending that money. This is causing agencies to look a little deeper and be better stewards of state funding. At the conclusion of his speech Representative Chew thanked those who have contacted him with questions and concerns.
