State Representative Scott Chew gave a legislative report last week during the Vernal Chamber luncheon. He shared that in the spring a special session was used to ensure masks remain a personal choice and that another special session is possible in the near future to discuss Critical Race Theory. The drought was also a topic for Representative Chew, who is very concerned about water in Utah being mandated downstream as he said we are behind in keeping our share of the Colorado River as it is. Finally, Representative Chew spoke about redistricting that is happening this year based on census numbers. He encourages all to be involved in order to protect local rural representation.
