Remembering Cart Creek Fire Program on Friday Nights Through July

by | Jul 5, 2019 | News | 0 comments

For those that like to enjoy the outdoors and to hear some of the stories of people who serve and protect it, be sure to head up Firefighters Campground today, or any Friday until August 2nd. At the campground, members of the Ashley National Forest will overview the events of the 1977 Cart Creek Fire and remember the lives lost fighting that fire. It will be a truly unique experience to be in the beautiful wilderness and hear of the dangers that can overtake nature’s beauty so quickly, while honoring those people that strive to keep our community safe. The event takes place at the Firefighters Memorial every Friday night at 7:30pm at Firefighters Campground, near Flaming Gorge. The memorial is between sites 18 & 19 and is free to the public.
