Dangerous road conditions will return this week and all are urged to take extra precautions if they must travel. Of course this isn’t your first rodeo this winter but National Weather Service reports that the storm coming today will be a combination of heavy snow and strong winds. Ready Utah gives the following tips: Clear your vehicle of ice or snow before your trip. Have an emergency car kit. Slow down and leave more room between cars. It’s a good idea to have a new battery, check tires and brakes, make sure windshield wipers are good, and keep extra wiper fluid in the vehicle. In addition to preparing your vehicle, be sure to stay aware of the weather by listening to forecasts, road reports and storm warnings. Be sure to tell someone where you are going and when you are expected to return. Stay in your vehicle if stuck or lost in a winter storm, and keep the winter car kit accessible in your vehicle. 40% of American drivers do not carry an emergency kit in their vehicle. Winter conditions make it possible for drivers to get stranded so be prepared.
