Get your leprechaun traps set, St. Patrick’s Day is nearly here and the holiday has a committed following in Utah. The Hibernian Society of Utah makes sure that Utahns with Irish heritage have a day to join together and celebrate with special events including a Utah visit for Mary Robinson, the first female President of Ireland and former United Nations High Commissioner. While many may include President Robinson’s speech on their list of things to do this Friday, many celebrating will also include alcohol on their to-do list on one of the biggest drinking holidays of the year. Local law enforcement are urging safety surrounding St. Patrick’s Day. Citizens need to use caution regarding driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, shares Vernal City Assistant Police Chief Keith Campbell. “We would like to recommend driving responsibly or utilizing a taxi or designated driver.”
