Ashley Regional Medical Center asks the community members of the Uintah Basin to take a moment and recognize Blood Donor Day and consider donating. Giving blood is a great way to give back to the community and has a positive impact on the health of your neighbors. One time donations that take about one hour can save the lives of up to three people. Someone needs blood every two seconds with 43,000 pints of donated blood being used each day in the U.S. and Canada. 37 percent of the U.S. population is eligible to donate blood with less than 10 percent actually donating annually. On Monday, June 27th, there are openings for drives at the Uintah Community Center and Uintah County Library; Tuesday, June 28th there is a drive at the Vernal Elks Lodge; and Wednesday, June 29th a drive is being held at Warriors Warehouse. Visit redcrossblood.org to find all the local blood drives and make an appointment.
