Representatives from Special Service Districts in Uintah County provided updated CIB project priority lists to the Uintah County Commissioners during a February Commission meeting. Uintah Recreation District Director Robin O’Driscoll was among those that presented and while the potential projects she mentioned are contingent on many factors, the vision for what the rec district property could provide is exciting. The first priority she spoke of was a softball complex. The softball complex is written into the master plan for the Kay property next to the community center but there has also been talk, explained O’Driscoll, that one of the softball fields would be built on Uintah School District property, paid for by the District with an agreement in place to use it. With a large local softball community, a softball complex is something many are hoping to see built. O’Driscoll also stated that an amphitheater is included in the plans for the Kay property and that moving the ice rink from Western Park to the Rec District property has been discussed for years.
