Like most places in the region, water conservation is on the minds of leadership in the Town of Rangely, Colorado which has prompted an announcement and invitation. On Tuesday, August 12th, the Town Administration invited the community to make serious changes to conserve water. “The White River is running critically low due to prolonged dry conditions and minimal precipitation,” shares the announcement. “These conditions not only strain our water supply but also heighten the risk of wildfire, as we’ve seen in the recent devastating fires in Rio Blanco County…To help preserve our precious water resources, we kindly ask all residents to conserve water wherever possible. Simple actions like taking shorter showers, promptly fixing leaks, limiting car washing, and reducing lawn irrigation can make a significant impact.” The announcement also made it clear that cuts in water usage could become mandatory if the water level in the river continues to drop.
