Residents in a Rangely neighborhood were asked to stay inside their homes or stay away from their homes during a domestic dispute on Wednesday morning. Rangely PD reports that at 11:33am on January 11th, they were dispatched to the intersection of West Main Street and Halfturn Avenue after receiving a 911 phone call from a female stating she was just attacked by her husband who she said was “acting crazy”. She said her husband physically assaulted her, attempted to stop her from calling 911 and then retreated inside their shared residence where there was a loaded handgun. “Several attempts were made to contact the male inside of the residence,” shares Rangely PD. “The male refused to speak to Officers or answer the door. The Rangely Police Department along with assistance from the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office and the Colorado Parks and Wildlife set up a perimeter and blocked off the area for the safety of citizens of Rangely.” Armed with an arrest warrant and a search warrant, police had to use force to enter the residence and place the man under arrest. He was transported to the Moffat County Jail on charges.
