Public Invited to Take ‘Flaming Gorge Rapid Response Plan Public Survey’

by | Aug 20, 2021 | News | 0 comments

The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources is seeking feedback from the public as part of planning for the possible future detection of invasive mussels. While the survey can take as little as a minute to complete, it also provides text boxes to offer suggestions and further feedback. The proposed management actions of the Flaming Gorge Rapid Response Plan currently include: Completing access restriction for all watercraft at the reservoir for a period of 24 to 72 hours to allow for mussel verification; The prohibition of shoreline launching around the reservoir and restriction of all public launching of watercraft to six ramps during the first year after mussel detection; And implementation of exit inspections of departing watercraft at those six launch ramps during daylight hours from March through October.
