Ashley National Forest has updated the 2016 Draft Potential Wilderness Inventory maps and the public is invited to review and offer input on the updates. The maps are part of a lengthy Wilderness Evaluation process. The inventory maps review and updates are just the first step in a four step process that altogether will take several years. Comments were received in August and the new maps reflects modifications since then. In the latest round of proposed updates, areas have been determined to not meet the criteria for inventory and have therefore been removed from the maps.
