Project Alley, the first sober living home for women in the Basin, opened nearly 30 days ago and has since reached capacity. “We have some remarkable women in the program who are showing up present every day, willing to be vulnerable about their struggles, and encouraging one another to keep going for another 24 hours,” shares Director of Development Kennedy Chivers. “This is not an easy journey, facing addiction and learning what life is like outside of it is an intimidating place to be, so to witness the amount of women who are willing to learn how to do that has made us grateful each new day.” Chivers says the community has been incredible with many volunteers on a weekly basis teaching valuable life skills that the women can take with them for the rest of their lives. Funding is an ongoing effort and the Vernal Rotary Club is hosting a casino night fundraiser to benefit Project Alley taking place on February 13th. Early bird tickets are available now through January 20th. For more information or to sponsor, call or text 435-828-8288 or 435-790-3037.
