Uintah County Commissioner Mike McKee finished his last day in office last Thursday and the process to fill that vacant seat is ongoing. According to Uintah County Republican Chair Marilyn Wallis, the Republican Central Committee has received 22 applications but, as of Tuesday, they were still waiting for the County Commission to give their official notification of the vacancy. “We are very pleased with the number of applications we’ve received,” shares Wallis. “We have gone through them extensively and have a list of names of those that the Committee is interested in interviewing.” Not all that applied will be interviewed but interviews are expected to be held this week. Once an applicant is selected and the County Commission has given their official notification of the vacancy, the Committee will submit their choice to the County Commission.
