Ashley National Forest has announced plans for further prescribed burns today. “Following successful burning operations in the Sheep Creek Geologic Loop area, fire personnel plan to continue prescribed burning on Friday in the area north of the Greendale Overlook and Highway 44,” shares the announcement. “This work will take place west of the Swett Ranch Historical Site and east of the Trail Creek Wildlife Management Area, within burn units 12B and 12C.” No closures are planned with these burns and smoke may be visible at times. If you encounter smoke while driving, please slow down and turn on your headlights for safety.
