Power Restored After Mega Power Outage in Daggett County

Some heroes wear capes and some climb power poles. Between 250 and 300 consumers in Daggett County were without power starting Sunday late evening due to a heavy wet snow but thankfully the crew of Bridger Valley Power worked through the night and well into Monday until everyone’s power was back on. According to a Bridger Valley Power representative, there were lines down, lines sagging, and even some trees on lines, all due to the weight of the 10-12 inches of wet snow that fell. The issues snowballed when the built up snow would fall off, causing the lines to snap up and hit another line causing yet another outage. A crew of 7 worked around the clock restoring power to different areas but there remained a portion of Dutch John and into Manila still without power into the afternoon. A large broken cross arm proved to be the biggest issue and once it was fixed, power was restored to all by 4:00pm on Monday.
