The planned power outage in Uintah County had some rippling effects on Wednesday morning. Originally, Rocky Mountain Power reported the maintenance work would be complete and power restored by 5:30am but the outage was prolonged in much of the area with it taking until after 7am to fully restore power. As a result, the Uintah School District announced a 2 hour delay to school start times and no morning session for students at Central Cove. Rocky Mountain Power’s planned power outage affected over 6,700 Rocky Mountain Power customers. The work to maintain equipment was reported as only safe to perform while the lines were de-energized and was performed overnight when Rocky Mountain Power hoped it would have the least impact on the community.
