The Central Canal piping project continues on 1500 West in Vernal. During a recent Uintah County meeting, Central Canal President Wayne Simper shared that the culverts on 1500 West crossing Main Street are rotting away and Vernal City has been on site as decisions will need to be made in dealing with that. Simper shared with Evans Family Media that the 1500 West piping project is progressing as planned and the rotting culverts are just an example of the types of things run into on these projects all the time. The agenda for tonight’s Vernal City Council meeting includes considering a change request regarding the replacement of the culverts. The agenda memo states that there will be a discussion about the future of the culverts, if they are needed and which entity pays for the removal.
