A wildfire reported in Dry Fork Canyon has been aptly named the Dry Fork Fire. Ashley National Forest PIO Don Jaques shared on Tuesday evening at 9pm that the fire is located east of Red Cloud Loop Road in a canyon. It was called in at 6:46pm and was only burning on BLM land at that point. Fire crews responded and 4 engines, one hand crew, and two other individuals were assigned to the fire on Tuesday evening. Madison Heiser, PIO assigned to the Dry Fork Fire, reported Wednesday morning that the Dry Fork Fire is still estimated between 30 to 50 acres. Currently, there are no structures threatened, no evacuations, and no closures. Things are looking better today than yesterday. The fire did quiet overnight. They are looking to get additional ground support and hoping to get some aerial support today as well. The cause remains under investigation.
