Prescribed burns continue in the region with Ashley National Forest announcing a pile burning update this week. “Fire personnel plan to continue pile burning this week as part of the Red Cloud Loop Fuels Reduction Project,” shares the announcement. “Burning will occur near Sims Peak along Forest Service Road 018.” Operations were planned to start on Tuesday, February 3rd, and will continue throughout the week as weather and other conditions permit. There are no burn-related closures in effect and smoke may be visible. Over-snow vehicle users are asked to please slow down and use extra caution if you encounter smoke. Burn operations always depend upon weather conditions.
