A California man already facing felony drug charges has been caught again during a traffic stop on I-80 in Sweetwater County. 32-year-old Mustafa Askia used an alias name when the vehicle he was traveling in was pulled over on Thursday. He and the driver, 35-year-old Crystal Nichols were both charged with felony-grade Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession with Intent to Deliver, and Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Substance. The K9 alerted the officer of the presence of drugs in the vehicle and 3 pounds of vacuum sealed bags of marijuana was recovered. Investigation revealed that Askia was wanted in California and that there remained an active 2016 warrant out for him in Sweetwater County from the Circuit Court in Green River.
