KNEU 1250The Vernal Innovation Hub continues to be a place offering locals the tools to succeed in business. “The Hub has been open for nine months and is experiencing great success,” shares Vernal City Manager Quinn Bennion. “The Hub is a joint venture of Vernal City, Uintah County, Strata and GoUtah to encourage and support small business growth and development.”
The Division of Wildlife Resources has announced that due to recent rain storms decreasing the wildfire risk for several areas of Utah, the temporary ban on campfires and recreational target shooting with a firearm on most of its wildlife management areas has been removed.

The process of redistricting is underway in Utah and it’s possible this process could harm representation in rural Utah. After gathering public input, the Utah Independent Redistricting Commission will create district maps for the Utah Legislature to consider.

While there are many places in the Uintah Basin to get tested for COVID-19, TriCounty Health Department has announced a change to their testing availability. TriCounty Health used to be available for testing prior to traveling but that is no longer available.

The Ute Indian Tribe of the Uintah and Ouray Reservation announced Thursday that they have entered into a historic agreement with the National Park Service and the U.S. Department of the Interior to establish a Tribal Historic Preservation Office for the benefit of the Tribe and its members.
Local health and government officials are pleading with the public, particularly in Duchesne County, to take immediate action to stop the spread of COVID-19 as the area experiences a surge of hospitalizations. Duchesne County is currently reporting the highest COVID-19 case rate in the state of Utah and residents are asked to wear masks in public and please stay home if sick.
