New Employment Report From Workforce Services
The Department of Workforce Services has released an updated employment report. Utah’s job count for May reached 1,662,300. Duchesne County’s employment level reached 8,094 in May while Daggett County registered at 484 and Uintah County at 12,954.
Funding Approved For Uintah High Agricultural Sciences Classroom Building
Plans for a new classroom building at Uintah High School are moving forward. The Uintah School Board approved the Fiscal Year 2023 budget during last week’s business meeting. Included in the $93.3 million dollar budget was $2 million dollars for the construction of a new Agricultural Sciences classroom building at UHS.
DWR: Chronic Wasting Disease Spreading
The Division of Wildlife Resources announced last week that chronic wasting disease is spreading to new parts of the state. The disease, which affects the nervous systems of deer, elk, and moose, was first detected in the state in 2002 in northeastern Utah.
