The suspect in a double homicide that occurred in the late-night hours on June 23rd has died of self-inflicted injuries in Wyoming’s Sweetwater County. Officers with Green River Police had been dispatched to a disturbance where a subject had pointed a pistol at the reporting party.

A man plead guilty and was sentenced for murder in Moffat County Court Thursday, June 23rd. The case began in November 2020 when around 5:30pm on November 30th the Moffat County Sheriff’s office was notified that a man’s body had been found in a remote area of northwest Moffat County.

While heat-related deaths and illnesses are preventable, the fact is more than 600 people in the United States are killed by extreme heat every year. Ashley Regional Medical reminds the public that it is important to take the proper precautions against becoming overheated especially during extreme heat.

The public is invited to a hearing during the Duchesne County Planning Commission meeting next week. A public hearing with the Public Lands Committee will be held at 5:00pm on July 6th in the County Commission Chambers.

The Primary Election is coming up Tuesday, June 28th. In Duchesne County, the only location for voting is at the Clerk/Auditor’s office at 734 North Center Street in Duchesne.

The House Armed Services Committee (HASC) passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2023. Included in the bill is many sponsored provisions by Congressman Blake Moore.
